As promised, here is a thorough accounting of my New Year's resolution of Twenty-Eighteen:
Perhaps the results might have been different if I'd resolved to ride only that sweet, sweet fixie in the photo. Regardless, success is how you define it, and by that metric I'm the very embodiment of it.
For 2019 I hereby resolve to revel in my vast and ever-increasing stable of velocipedes.
Flippantly,

Cheers! And thank you!
That SS would look far sweeter without that rear brake cable winding around at random; looks like the balrog's whip that brought down Gandalf in LoTR.
As for having to give away 148 bikes, one could always buy a bunch of cheap or used bikes and give them away to charity or people in need. Forgiveness is easier and cheaper, I suppose, but some sort of atonement might bring about the shanti shanti shanti.
1st scranus of 2019!
you had me at 'getting dropped like a hot burrito'
6,346 miles ridden during 260 rides in one year is impressive, bravo for fitting in that much saddle time : )
Speaking of aesthetic hang-ups; why do the bar ends match the rims and the tires?
If you run an average of 3 miles, twice per week, during the remaining weeks of 2019, you'll run off your debt. Or 2 miles, three times per week.
Hey! in lieueu of givin away 148 bicycle velocipedes you coud just make a donation to https://worldbicyclerelief.org/ bonus smug points also!
I've been working on being more stern when negotiating with myself too.
Don't let that asshole get the better of you, and all.
In many ways a meaningful conclusion to a meaningless promise :-)
With 6,346 miles, my IRS mileage deduction rationalization says you earned $3,680 to spend on bikes. Two more years and you can buy your Renovo.
And in other DC bike news that nobody in NY gives a ratsazz about, Metro will be allowing bikes on trains during all hours (instead of limiting it to non-rush hours). Metro is fighting declining ridership and thinks this will help. Of course, the metro riders are appalled and hail it as the dumbest thing ever...

Oh the comments - never read the comments - my eyes ....
6,436 Miles You must be feeling incredibly smug!? I only managed about 60% of that despite my best efforts and I feel incredibly self righteous myself! Congrats! - masmojo
Bicycles: cheaper than drugs (arguably)
Yeah, never read the comments on a Washington Post bicycling article unless your loins are well and truly girded.

Now, I'm no expert in chemistry or thermodynamics, but something tells me that firemen don't running into burning buildings with tanks of pure oxygen on their backs.

Snob,
what PSI you running in your shoes bro?
nike pumps need to be optimized before you put your left foot then right foot forward.
by the way, nikes suck. saucony
SRAM Red of running shoes.
i bet your hipster ass is running reeboks because they compliment your jean running shorts.
Hey happy new year and i like the conclusion of the article. And it’s not as though you had bet someone else a million bucks and then totally welched on it... that would be a different story. ah yes, 2019 is gonna be great!
Happy New Year, Snob et al!
Did you see this company’s stuff?
https://materiabikes.com
I dunno about a wooden bike, but one of their spokespeople is “the greatest BMX rider in the world”! Wow, right? I couldn’t find the BMX model on their site but that’s undoubtedly on me: I’m sure I just overlooked it.
In any event, maybe they could advise on your pirate ship problem?
148 bikes? Yikes! Kinda puts my n+1 to shame.
For every resolution, there is a loophole. I bought a new,(to me) bike on that E site last year. It hasn't arrived yet,so,does that count on my n+1for 2018? Or do I carry over to 2019,when it will hopefully arrive next week? Me thinks it's a grey area, only to fall into the: doesn't count against n+1 area.
Flippant?
Floppant.
Self-absorbed douchebag is a copyright label for Trump.
